Certification: SVQ
Duration: 6-9 months
Course Content:
Aimed at experienced, but unqualified carpentry and joinery delegates, individuals will be assessed (and trained if necessary) over a period of 6-9 months in the workplace. During this period the delegates will work to achieve a completed portfolio of projects which will be professionally assessed by one of our experts.
On completion of the SVQ the delegate can then undertake a health and safety assessment, this assessment coupled with the SVQ will enable the individual to secure a CSCS card.
Description: This SVQ can be completed through On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT), by experienced carpentry and joinery workers. Completion of this SVQ along with a health and safety assessment can secure a CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
Prerequisites: Delegates must be time served in the field of carpentry and joinery. Delegates must be in employment as all assessments are workbased.
Target group: Timeserved carpenters and joiners who do not hold an SVQ or CSCS card.
Additional Notes: Funding assistance for companies supporting staff through this qualification can apply, please enquire for details.
Venue: This course is normally workplace based and course delivery would take place there.
