Description: This new qualification has been developed in order to meet the needs of the electrical contracting industry. It is intended to provide candidates to become conversant with the requirements for inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations. It is aimed at practising electricians who have carried out initial verifications on electrical installations and require further training in periodic inspection, testing and certification. It is not suitable for those coming into the industry with limited experience of inspection and testing (the Certificate in Fundumental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification - 2392-10 is intended for this purpose).
Target group: Practising Electricians who have carried out initial verifications on electrical installations and require further training in periodic inspection, testing and certification.
Additional Notes: There are no formal requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification. However, it would be expected that candidates have a basic knowledge and understanding of electrical science and principles and the ability to carry out fundamental inspection, testing and verification; and ideally have successfully passed the 2392-10 examination. Assessment is via a two and a half hour paper covering the underpinning knowledge required for carrying out inspection, testing and reporting of existing electrical installations and a 4 hours one-to-one practical test covering the range of inspections, test and reporting procedures of information and results for a periodic inspection of an electrical installation, as required by BS 7961:2008.
Venue: This course can be delivered at one of our learning centres across Aberdeen city or shire or at a suitable location of your choice.
