Course Content:
The course consists of:
- Discussions on training requirements
- Practical welding sessions (edge preparation, welding parameters, weld inspection
- and testing).
Candidates have the opportunity to select the appropriate weld standards which confirm to:
- ASME IX
- ISO 15614
Description: This course is designed for companies who require to develop new welding procedures.
Target group: Experienced Welders
Additional Notes:
Weld procedure is witnessed by an external inspection authority.
The test consists of:
- Witnessing of weld test piece preparation
- Witnessing of the welding of the test piece
- Visual examination of the welded test piece
- Authorisation by a Lloyds surveyor
- All weld parameters will be recorded and documented
- Welds will be mechanically tested according to ASME IX & or ISO 15614
- Successful candidates will be awarded a WPS and a coded welder approval certificate.
On completion of a WPS, students may choose to progress with further procedures.
Venue: This course is delivered at the main College campus in Fraserburgh, however may also be delivered in client premises, subject to equipment meeting current Health and Safety legislation.
